Mend to speak

to NIC boosters

COEUR d'ALENE - Local Realtor Marshall Mend will be the featured speaker at the NIC Booster Club Luncheon at noon Tuesday at The Coeur d'Alene Resort Shore Lounge.

Mend has more than 30 years experience in real estate sales and has owned and operated Marshall Mend Realty since January 1990.

Mend is an active member of the National Association of Realtors, the Idaho Association of Realtors, the Coeur d'Alene Association of Realtors and the Realtors National Marketing Institute. He was the first Realtor to receive the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce Service Excellence Award.

Locally, Mend was a founding member of the Kootenai County Task Force for Human Relations and Children's Village and remains active with both organizations.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting. The cost of lunch is not covered.

The NIC Booster Club meets on the second and last Tuesday of the month at noon. All summer NIC Booster Club meetings will be held at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Shore Lounge.

Rathdrum 3 on 3 hoop

tourney set for July 17

RATHDRUM - Registration for Rathdrum 3 on 3 Street Hoops is under way at the Rathdrum Park and Rec office.

The tournament takes place during Rathdrum Days on July 17 at Lakeland High School. The packet pickup will be on Friday, July 16, at the Park and Rec office from 3-6 p.m. Registrations will end on July 12.

Divisions are: Grades 3-8, $80 per team, which includes a shirt for each player; grades 9-12, $100 per team, which includes a shirt for each player; and adult, $100 per team which includes a shirt for each player.

NIC coaches, players to

lead volleyball camps

The North Idaho College volleyball staff and players are offering two volleyball camps this summer for middle and high school volleyball players.

The NIC Position Camp will be offered Aug. 7 and 8 in Christianson Gym. The camp will include two sessions.

The NIC volleyball tune-up complete player camp will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 9 to 11 at Coeur d'Alene High. Cost is $75 for either camp.

Camp instruction will be led by new NIC head volleyball coach Colleen Frohlich, as well as assistant coaches and players. All campers should bring athletic shoes, shorts, knee pads and a water bottle.

Eastern football team to play Central in Seattle

In the second version of the "Showdown on the Sound," Eastern Washington's football team will play Central Washington on Sept. 11 at Qwest Field in Seattle. Kickoff has been set for 6 p.m. with the two schools co-hosting the event.

Last season, Eastern defeated Portland State 47-10 at Qwest in the inaugural "Showdown" game.

Tickets for the game will be available through Ticketmaster, the Qwest Field stadium box office, and other locations to be announced. Further game and ticket information will be posted online at www.goeags.com as it becomes available.

Akey guest of honor at

'Vandal Luau at the Lake'

DOVER BAY - University of Idaho football coach Robb Akey will be the guest of honor at the Akey Akey Tiki Tiki poolside party, set for July 16 at Dover Bay waterfront community on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.

The "Vandal Luau at the Lake" includes Hawaiian food, live music and dancing, live and silent auctions, door prize giveaways, an on-the-water boat show, kayak and canoe rides, and more.

Akey will be joined by the rest of his Vandals athletic coaching staff. Proceeds will benefit the University of Idaho athletic scholarship fund.

The Akey Akey Tiki Tiki party runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
