| June 27, 2010 9:00 PM

OMAHA, Neb. - Austin Kiefer went 2 for 4 with three RBIs in a 12-9 Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen loss to Dakota Ridge High School of Littleton, Colo., to conclude the Decker Sports College World Series tournament with a 1-4 record in pool play.

"Austin was the sparkplug for us today," Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman said. "Just coming back like we did yesterday after losing 21-20, it took everything out of us. He was the one that got it done out there. Ransom (Storm) pitched really well out there for us today, also."

Coeur d'Alene hosts the Spokane Bandits at 6 p.m. and Chino from Sacramento, Calif., at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at McEuen Field.

by Centennial

SPOKANE - Tyler Shaffer and Nik Berger had two hits apiece for the Prairie Cardinals in a 7-6 loss to the Centennial Cannons on Saturday in the Best of the Northwest wood bat tournament at Central Valley High.

"We just couldn't get a clutch hit," Prairie coach Dustin Frank said. "We left the bases loaded a couple times. Today just wasn't our day."

Prairie was picked off base five times in the game, and went 0-5 in the tourney.

"Centennial did a good job of back picking today," Frank said. "They got five out on it. We just kind of ran ourselves out of the game."

Prairie hosts Trail on Wednesday at Post Falls High at 1 p.m.
