CHICKENS: They're not city creatures
I was awakened Thursday at 5:40 a.m. by chickens. This noise continued for 20 minutes and was finalized by a young rooster trying to crow.
We went through this last year, with a rooster crowing at 4 a.m. It was dealt with. We have neighbors living on the street behind us that have chickens in their backyard.
Now the city wants to increase the number of chickens from 3 to 10. Come on people! Mr. Kennedy of our City Council thinks this is OK, but does he have chickens around him? I would say not.
Chickens are farm animals. If you want a farm, move to the outskirts. This is a city, where you live like city people. What is next? A cow? Because they want milk and meat. The price of a dozen eggs is very cheap. Please don’t use that for an excuse.
I have reached the end of my rope with inconsiderate neighbors. I will be attending the next City Council meeting for sure.
