Waltz 6th at USA outdoor track meet

DES MOINES, Iowa - Former Post Falls High standout Ian Waltz finished sixth in the men's discus at the USA outdoor track and field championships Friday at Drake Stadium.

Waltz, who won the event in 2005, '06 and '08, threw 191 feet, 1 inch on the fourth of his six throws.

Casey Malone won it with a throw of 205-3 on his third throw. Jason Young was second at 200-7, Jarred Rome third at 200-3, and former Idaho thrower Russ Winger was fourth at 192-1.
