Senior Empowerment Fair scheduled today

COEUR d'ALENE - Nearly 40 vendors will provide information on their products and services at a Senior Empowerment Fair today at the Lake City Senior Center.

"Power of Choice" will be the theme of the informational and fun free event for seniors and their families from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Guest speaker Dr. John C. Stackow, M.D., F.A.C.S. and general surgeon will speak about colon cancer and breast cancer at noon.

Guest speaker Dr. Susan Melchiore will discuss choosing a primary care provider and making sense of the alphabet soup at 1:30 p.m.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money for Lake City Senior Center to keep it in operation and to give seniors information and resources to help them with their lives.

Hot dogs and lunch will be available, and a gift basket raffle will be held.
