Olson named U.S. Attorney

Wendy J. Olson has been unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the next U.S. Attorney for the District of Idaho.

Olson succeeds U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Moss, who has held the position since August 2001.

Olson will be formally sworn in on Friday by Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill.

She currently serves as assistant U.S. attorney and senior litigation counsel in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Idaho.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, she tried numerous cases including the capital sentence in United States v. Joseph Duncan.
