Clara Christine Perez, 89

Clara Christine Perez, 89, resident of Coeur d’Alene, died June 16, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center. Clara was born July 26, 1920, in Plainview, Texas, to William D. and Annie Irene (Perrish) Smith.

She married Jasper Leon Kennedy on Oct. 21, 1949, in Las Vegas, Nev. Clara was a homemaker, mother and wife. She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2008 from San Jacinto, Calif. She enjoyed sewing, Blue Star Mother’s and the VFW.

Clara is survived by one son, Jack McElroy of Temecula, Calif.; three daughters, Pat Bainbridge of Riverside, Calif., Linda Strigotte of Coeur d’Alene and Glenda Chaney of Vacaville, Calif.; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Clarette of Victorville, Calif., and Irene Brand of Riverside, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; four brothers; a daughter, Jeanette Chaney; grandson Rennie Kirka and great-granddaughter Molly Seals.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, is in charge of local arrangements.
