Michael Drapeau, 64

Michael James Drapeau, 64, passed away June 14, 2010, at his home in Post Falls, after a long battle with respiratory problems. He was born Aug. 26, 1945, in Spokane, Wash., to Elmer and Lienna (Williams) Drapeau.

Mike enjoyed a full life in and around the Coeur d’Alene area beginning with his school years in Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene. Enjoying the area, he went on to raise his own family in Coeur d’Alene. He served three years in the U.S. Army including overseas duty in Germany.

Mike loved fishing with his brothers, nephews, sons and grandsons. His fish stories got longer with each adventure. Mike loved family, and had a close relationship with his mother. He was one of 14 children. In his later years he remained close to his sisters, aunts and uncles. Mike, his fishing stories and all his untold adventures, will be missed by his friends and family. Happy Fishing Dad!

Mike is survived by his son, Michael and his wife, Tamara; his daughter, Irene; his son, Dennis and his wife, Jessica; eight grandchildren, and nine brothers and sisters.

The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel. Graveside military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Forest Cemetery followed by a memorial service where Mike will be honored by his friends and family as they gather together at 3 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel.
