Piedad 'Rosie' G. Reynolds, 82

Piedad “Rosie” G. Reynolds, 82, of Hayden (formerly of the Silver Valley), passed away June 12, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene. She was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Santa Monica, Calif. Rosie was the daughter of Anastacio and Agapita (Gutierrez) Rojas.

Rosie attended schools in Santa Monica and Mexico. She married Ted Reynolds on Dec. 25, 1947, in Black Lake. Ted and Rosie moved to the Silver Valley in 1962 from Harrison.

Rosie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker; she loved and enjoyed her family, grandchildren, cooking and golfing. She was a member of the Pinehurst Golf Club.

Rosie is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ted Reynolds of Hayden; three children and their spouses, Randy and Judy Reynolds of Olympia, Wash., John and Tootie Reynolds of Hayden, and Olivia and Ray Simmons of Topeka, Kan.; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Christina of Omaha, Neb., Jessie of Venice, Calif., Elodia of Venice and Olivia of Boise; three brothers, Tino of Indio, Calif., Joe of Palm Desert, Calif., and Tacho of Palm Desert; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel in Kellogg, with Rev. Ken Bartle officiating. There will be a reception/luncheon for family and friends at the Kellogg Elks following services; everyone is welcome. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Northwest Diabetes Association.
