CELLS: Washington getting it right

| June 16, 2010 10:00 PM

Congratulations to Washington in making it a primary offense for driving while using a cell phone.  I hope Idaho will follow suit and do the same.

Northwestern Idaho has become a cell use area due to the influx of transplants and technology. It would be great if law enforcement had the same capability as Washington now has, but I would hope they would raise the fine to $250 for the first offense and double it for each occurring offense.  Thirty years ago we didn't have cell phones and we all did fine. Now it seems one can't talk to anyone without being on a cell phone.

Ban cell phone use in any manner (emergency excluded) while driving.
