CD 1: Time for GOP to unite

This year's primary election for the First Congressional District was an especially hard fought contest. Supporters of the two major candidates, Rep. Raul Labrador and Vaughn Ward, poured their heart, soul and money into the election.

Rep. Raul Labrador won the election. Now, all Republicans must come together to defeat Walt Minnick. Minnick is a formidable candidate with millions of dollars to spend on his campaign. Republicans must be united if we are to have a chance to upset Minnick. The same time, effort and money expended in the primary, will be necessary in the run-up to the general election in November.

If we do not come together, the reddest of the red states will once again have a Democrat to help Nancy Pelosi for the following two years. Our country cannot afford another two years of a Congress controlled by Democrats. Idaho Republicans must win control of the First Congressional District to do our part in reclaiming the United States House of Representatives. It is the first important step in turning our country around. We must, as the song says, "COME TOGETHER".
