A.M. Briefing: Stalled apartments

A Liberty Lake company took out a building permit with the city of

Coeur d'Alene on Friday, June 11, for site development valued at $1

million. But don't look for construction to begin any time soon on the

site across from Mill River, at 3901 Seltice Way.

The project by Riverview Ventures, which started a year and a half

ago, is slated to be an apartment complex, but financing has been an

issue in the current real estate economy, said Bart Bennett, project

manager for Rudeen Development, also of Liberty Lake, which will be

the contractor for the project.

"We had to pull the permit before the expiration date," he said.

Hopefully, Bennett said, work will be under way by late summer. The

first phase of two planned will include 109 units, with three- and

four-story buildings, with a second phase similar in size. A clubhouse

is also planned on the site, which is about 10 acres.
