SPOKANE - Mitch Bevacqua went 6 for 8 to lead the visiting Lumbermen (8-2) to the sweep. Bevacqua drove in four runs in the first game, and tripled in each game.

Kaleb DeHaas homered in the second game for Coeur d'Alene, which got complete games from Nathan Collier and Matt Cade. Austin Kiefer went 3 for 5 in the opener.

Coeur d'Alene plays host to the Spokane Blue Devils on Monday.

LEWISTON - Johnny Rake struck out 13 in the opener and Beau Kerns fanned 11 in the nightcap for the Twins in their class AA North Idaho League opener at Harris Field.

In the second game, the Cardinals (1-4, 1-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first when Derek Tymesen hit an RBI double, then scored on Bryson Smith's single.

"If we can get away from giving up the free bases, we can play with anybody," Prairie coach Dustin Frank said. "We need to focus on continuing to throw strikes, and being consistent on the mound."

Prairie plays host to Trail on Saturday in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Post Falls High.
