Lorraine G. (Ursaki, Tilson) Owens, 89

Lorraine G. Owens, 89, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away June 9, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, on July 18, 1920.

Lorraine was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club, P.E.O, 3Cs and bridge club. She was a swimming teacher and had many awards and records in Canada as well as teaching hundreds of children to swim. She taught Slim & Trim classes. She was a Realtor and active in golf. She was married in 1941 to John Ursaki. He died in 1972. She then married William (Red) Tilson in 1975. He died in 1985. Lorraine married Patrick Owens in 1987.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was loved by so many. She brought smiles and laughter to all those that knew her. She was a fighter and such a strong and amazing lady. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Patrick Owens at their home in Coeur d’Alene; daughter Wendy and son-in-law Henry (Hank) Franks; granddaughter Meagan and grandson Jeffrey, all of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; brother Roy and sister-in-law Beverly of Qualacom Beach, B.C. She is also survived by stepsons Kevin (Joan) Owens of Redmond, Wash., and Brian Owens of Spokane and stepdaughters Carrie (Tom) Durrett of Selah, Wash., and Molly (Bob) Gregory of Boise; 14 step- grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; nephew Gary (Mary) Reber of Coeur d’Alene; nieces Bonnie Moreland of Boise and Judy (Dan) Lagall of Whitehorse, YT.

Her brother, Frank Reber, preceded her in death in 2001.

In memory of Lorraine, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene, is entrusted with the care of arrangements.
