Douglas Scott Croasdale, 63

Douglas Scott Croasdale passed away June 9, 2009, after a fatal car accident. The coroner believes Doug had a heart attack before hitting the freeway pillars after leaving Las Vegas.

He had recently retired after being a long-haul truck driver. He had been employed by Swift, Marten and others. He drove more than two million miles accident free.

Douglas was born to Grace and Emett Croasdale in Milwaukee, Wis., on Feb. 4, 1946. He moved to the San Fernando Valley in Southern California where he graduated from Canoga Park High School and joined the Marines where he served honorably from Feb. 1, 1966, until Jan. 30, 1970. Most of this time was served in Vietnam. He received many medals and commendations. He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1978 where he met and later married Susan Twete.

Doug is survived by two brothers, Phillip Croasdale of Coeur d’Alene and Russell Croasdale of Palmdale, Calif.; and one sister, Carrie Morgan of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; one half sister Arlene Hendrickson of Rathdrum and one half brother Ken Swift of Superior, Ariz.

Doug will be buried at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Wash.
