Allan Thompson, 72

Allan Medley Thompson, 72, of Blanchard, passed away May 30, 2010. He was born April 15, 1938, in Princeton, Ill., to Orville D. and Viva (Pierson) Thompson.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War on Operation Sea Float, for which he was awarded two Bronze Stars. He loved hunting, his dogs, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Allan M. Thompson II; his daughter, Jennifer Biggart; three grandchildren, Annabel, Louisa and Sam; his identical twin, Charles A. Thompson of Blanchard; a brother, Thomas A. Thompson; and a sister, Susan Thompson Cohen.
