PATRIOTS: It's a full-time job, folks

After reading Richard Burbine’s 05-30-10 Letter to the Editor, it made me realize that we now have a nation chock full of “Holiday Patriots.” What I mean by this is that the only time these people will fly the American Flag is on national holidays, or Flag Day, as Mr. Burbine suggested. Hey America, what the hell happened to the other 350-plus days each year??

Several of my neighbors and I fly “OLD GLORY” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (naturally one more day during leap year). We are proud to fly her. If she becomes slightly faded or torn, we replace her, and have the Boy Scouts retire her respectfully.

Apparently we have far too damn many “citizens” (?) who are afraid they will offend someone’s religion or nationality. Wake up, dummies!! This is America!! If someone is offended, and they don’t like it here, they can get the hell out!!!
