NOISE: It blasts Pinegrove residents
Your editorial July 14 on firecrackers. How did you put it? Interrupting the otherwise peaceful slumber of young and old alike. These aren't victimless crimes, as many a bleary-eyed, semi-cranky sleepwalker can attest. You asked for the municipal and county law enforcers to issue citations.
We in Pinegrove next to Doyle's Warehouse have been bleary-eyed, sleepwalking, sleep deprived for years. No one has ever cared. I am talking about the mayor, City Council, their attorneys, police, code officers, and most of all Doyle's Warehouse. We listen to their back-up beepers, air brakes, air horns, refrigerator units, employees yelling over all the trucks running - all night long - 52 weeks a year. It's like living next to the Flying J truck stop. Only a chain-link fence away.
All in the zoning that reads: "Business is to be conducted indoors with minimal impact on the environment." These people break the law every week all year long, the city doesn't care. It's all about who you know in the "City of Excellent." You know that "Quality of Life," the City Council and mayor talk about. Not in our neighborhood, not ever.
So all of you out there, that have gotten a ticket for disturbing the peace, ask why Doyle's Warehouse can make all the noise they want, all night long and get away with it?
All with the OK from the City Council and mayor. They decide who is allowed to break the law and who isn't.
