BOND: Resident suggests 'no' vote

I'd urge the voters within the Kootenai County Fire and Rescue District to vote NO on the upcoming Bond Levy. You can vote on Aug. 3 at any of the Kootenai Fire District fire stations in Dalton Gardens or Post Falls.

If you haven't noticed Kootenai County Fire is one of the largest taxing entities on your tax bill. There is little accountability or view of how the district is run by the public. They count on a small turnout to pass these levies.

They are seeking a levy of more than $2,000,000. The cost is really closer to $3,000,000, but they conveniently forget to really give the real total. They want to spend $1,000,000 on a training center and another $1,000,000 to remodel their Administrative offices. The other million is for miscellaneous expenses.

I urge everyone in the district to take a look at this huge expenditure and vote NO on Aug. 3.
