Life Care names executive director
Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, hired a new executive director, Steve Holloway.
"I am glad to be back in Coeur d'Alene and working with a lot of familiar people," Holloway said.
Holloway was previously an administrator in a skilled nursing and in an assisted living facility in Coeur d'Alene for a total of 12 years. He is returning to the area after serving as executive director at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley in Boise.
Plans at Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene include completing the facility's remodel. Holloway said the flooring has been replaced and the walls are currently being revamped. Some of the semi-private rooms are being converted to private suites as well.
A native of Harlan, Iowa, Holloway earned his bachelor's degree in business administration. He and his wife, Linda, have three children, ranging from kindergarten to college.

Huckleberry Festival set for Sunday
Schweitzer's 4th annual Huckleberry Festival will be held on Sunday.
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tongues will be dyed purple and finger tips stained violet as festival goers devour huckleberry pancakes and embark on huckleberry hikes. Schweitzer happily brings back The Huckleberry Jam Band for this free festival of fruit.
Breakfast kicks off at 8 with huckleberry pancakes. Shortly after, at 9, hosted huckleberry hikes will depart, led by picking experts to the secret stashes. Village activities begin at 11 a.m. including crafts, T-shirt tie dying, a huckleberry pie eating contest and lots of fun for all the kids.
"My kids look forward to this festival every year," said Dave Kulis, marketing director and father of three. "Their tie-dyed shirts become an instant favorite in their wardrobe."
Arts and crafts vendors will be scattered around the village amongst the inescapable aroma of gourmet hot dogs.
As always, Schweitzer will have the lift spinning from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for scenic chairlift rides, and access to downhill biking, hiking and disc golf. Bike rentals will be available in The Source.
