KTEC: Levy is only the beginning
Admittedly, I have no children by choice. However, as a property owner, if this levy passes, I will have to pay in some way.
Something does not sound right here. The districts are talking about building a new school on Meyer Road. They want to float a levy in the three districts to cover the building of this school.
They can't even finance the regular schools they have now. The teachers and staff just took pay and benefit cuts and it sounds like it's going to get worse in the future.
My question is, once they build these schools, how are they going to pay for equipment and supplies? How are they going to pay to staff these schools?
With the economy the way it is now and the way the future looks, this is not the time to do this. Maybe a few years down the road, if things improve. If this levy passes and this school is built, can we expect more levies to come? When does it end?
