Going to the dogs

If you like murder mysteries and unique writing and perspectives, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time would be a great book for you. This is the most unique murder mystery I have ever read because the murder victim is not a human, but a dog. Also, this book has quite an unlikely and unusual hero. The hero of this story is Christopher John Francis Boone, a fifteen-year-old boy who has all the world's countries and capitols memorized, knows every prime number up to 7,057 and can understand the feelings and thoughts of animals but not of others people. Christopher has autism, a mental disability that makes it very hard and sometimes impossible to learn certain things like manners or how to talk or certain academic skills. In his search for the killer, he accidentally stumbles upon a family issue that was hidden from him with lies.

This is a very good story that I would recommend to anyone old enough to read it. Based on experiences with my brother, who is autistic, the author, Mark Haddon, has created a very authentic perspective of autism. This story is funny, serious, and sad, and I hope you will read it after reading this.

WARNING TO PARENTS

This book will contain: language, use of alcohol and tobacco, sexual reference, and violence. It is one of the best books I have ever read and I would recommend it to anyone mature enough to read it.
