LOYALTY: Virtue lost in today's world
Thoughts on LeBron James. How many million dollars does it take to make a professional athlete have loyalty? Well I guess we will never know in this "it's all about me" day and age.
Loyalty used to be something that was inherent. Of course, that was "back in the day." Today is today. Things change. Not for the better. Loyalty is the name of a horse in the Third Race at Belmont that is given no chance to win. Oh well, I will still put my money on "Loyalty" and hope, against all odds, that one day, just one day, Loyalty will prevail. That's old school. My school.
While I have my soap box out, a brief analogy to William Wallace's (catchy last name) Son's of Scotland speech, at Stirling, is in order.
Aye, ignore the money and you may never win a championship. Take the money and you probably will, sometime. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all that money, for the chance to be back home and tell all you left behind, "They can keep their money, they'll never take my LOYALTY!"
