FIREWORKS: Fourth was over long ago

OK! Enough. Tonight I am listening to yet another round of fireworks and again putting my daughter back to bed after she gets up asking about the banging. The booms and flashes started about a block away from my home three weeks before the 4th and have continued nightly. Tonight I am listening to repeated cracks of exploding fireworks from the other direction, perhaps two blocks off. Is there no end to this?

I accept fireworks for a couple of days before and after the fourth as a celebration but it seems that it’s become a several week endeavor around the 4th and now is common on many other holidays, at weddings, and other festivities. How about some city wide control on this?
