EAGLES: Where that money goes
This is in response to the letter to the editor from Gary Ormesher.
The Grand Aerie is indeed offering one year free of dues and fees for NEW members who are veterans, firefighters, police and EMTs. It was their choice in deciding that it was for new members only, as it is a new member drive. I’m sorry it does not include current or previous members.
Our nonprofit organization known as “People Helping People” raises millions of dollars for charity here in the U.S. and Canada. Locally, our charities include Christmas for All, CdA Parks and Rec Little League, Relay Life, KMC, as well as the Grand Aerie charities (Cancer Fund, Heart Fund, Children’s Fund, Kidney Fund, and Diabetes Fund). Since we are a charitable organization, the Grand Aerie thought it would be a great way to give back to those who have given us all so much of themselves.
We encourage you or anyone who would like to join our great organization to stop in at 209 Sherman Ave. and fill out an application. Whether you want to join us for burgers and dancing on Thursday nights or our great Sunday breakfast, the Eagles is a great way to be involved in your community.
We appreciate your service.
