Kaylee Bennett fundraiser set for April 9-11

| February 26, 2010 11:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Kaylee Bennett is just 2 years old, but she's already fighting for her life.

She was diagnosed with stage 1 neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer, when she was 6 weeks old. She has undergone three surgeries, most recently last fall to remove a tumor and undergoes MRIs every three months to track the cancer.

"There's no growth, but also no signs it was completely gone, so it's still there, said her mom, Sara Bennett. "She's not in remission."

The family is facing financial struggles. Kaylee's father, Robert Bennett, recently lost his job and has been unable to find a new job.

A rummage sale fundraiser to help the family pay its medical bills is scheduled April 9, 10 and 11 in Hayden Lake.

Donations for the sale are being accepted.

If you want to help, call Sara at 818-4686, or Robert, 819-0979.

A benefit account has also been set up for Kaylee at Mountain West Bank under Sara L. Bennett for benefit of (FBO) Kaylee Bennett.
