Charles Arthur Huber, 78

Charles Arthur Huber, 78, of Post Falls, Idaho, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born July 11, 1931, in Spokane, Wash., to Anton and Alice Huber.

Charles was raised and graduated high school in Harrison, Idaho. He served in the Army during Korea. Charles drove ambulance in Coeur d’Alene, he worked for Potlatch Mill and also for the Kootenai County Sheriffs Department in the mid-60s. He was a member of the American Legion in Post Falls and an active member of The Eagles. He was a longtime secretary for them and a past president. He enjoyed cribbage, poker, baseball and other sporting events.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie at home; daughters and sons-in-law, Pattie Letham of Coeur d’Alene, Julie and Paul Meade of Monmouth, Ore., Glenna Johnson of Post Falls, Tammy and Bryan Schertz of Post Falls; a sister, Agnes and 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph and Leo and sister Genevieve.

Contributions can be sent to the American Legion Hall in Post Falls.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Post Falls.
