Charter boys ousted at 2A District 1-2 tourney
LEWISTON - Sophomore Jack Nygaard scored 23 points to lead the fifth-ranked Kamiah Kubs past the Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy Panthers 52-36 on Thursday night in the championship game of the 2A District 1-2 tournament at Booth Hall.
Kamiah (16-5) advances to state March 4-6 at Capital High in Boise.
Bob Schrack, one of nine seniors for Coeur d'Alene Charter, totaled 14 points and nine rebounds for the Panthers, who finished 14-10.
"It's disappointing to end this way, but we have nothing to be ashamed of," Charter coach Brian Childs said. "The effort was there tonight. We had a hard time putting the ball in the basket in the second quarter, and once you get behind to a team that disciplined, they make life really tough."
