Leprechaun race registration due

COEUR d'ALENE -

Registration for the 20th annual Leprechaun Scurry is due Saturday to avoid late fees.

The 3-mile fun run set for March 6 has a new course at Lake City High School that will take runners around Blue Grass Park and then back to the school track. The race had been at North Idaho College for 19 years.

The race is a fundraiser for LCHS programs. It usually attracts about 400 runners and walkers and is considered by many the kick-off to the spring running season.

Registration is $16 including a T-shirt, $10 without a shirt. Late registration is $25 with T-shirt, $15 without. There will be age group awards and refreshments.

Entry forms are online at http://test.bicycleservice.com/lep-scurry_2010.pdf

'Tubin' fundraiser to help pet rescue

KELLOGG - Silver Mountain Resort will host the 4th annual "Tubin' in Tutus" party on Saturday to help raise money for the Shoshone Pet Rescue.

There will be snow tubing, wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction. Participants are encouraged to come accessorized with tutus, tiaras and boas.

"This wacky party was initiated when Silver Mountain opened the snow tube park in 2006," said Karey Scholey, event organizer.

Cost is $30 ($12 for children younger than 13) and includes a gondola ride, tubing, swag bag, hors d'oeuvres, raffle entry and gourmet hot cocoa.
