Golf

John Daly has a new endorsement deal to go with those outrageously loud pants.

He also will be hawking underwear.

Slix, an online company that began four months ago, says the two-time major major will endorse its line of Slix Closer boxer briefs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Daly has lost over 100 pounds after lap-band surgery a year ago. He no longer has his PGA Tour card, but has played four times this year and made his first cut last week in Mexico, before shooting 81 in the last round.

Basketball

Fifth-ranked Duke was the lone ACC team in the college basketball poll Monday, something that last happened on Dec. 13, 1977, when North Carolina was No. 5 in what was then the Top 20.

Seven other schools from the 12-team league have been ranked at some point this season: North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Maryland, Florida State, Miami and Wake Forest.

Kansas (26-1), one of five teams from the Big 12 in the rankings, is again the runaway No. 1, receiving 61 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel.

Gonzaga's split in Los Angeles last week cost the Bulldogs five spots in the Associated Press Top 25. falling to No. 18 in this week's latest rankings.

Gonzaga will be home Thursday to face Santa Clara, then conclude the WCC season Saturday against San Francisco.

Top 25 men

No. 1 Kansas 81, Oklahoma 68: At Lawrence, Kan., Xavier Henry scored 18 of his 23 points in the first half and the Jayhawks (27-1, 13-0) clinched at least a share of its sixth straight Big 12 regular season title by beating the Sooners (13-14, 4-9).

Connecticut 73, No. 8 West Virginia 62: At Hartford, Conn., Kemba Walker scored 21 points as UConn (17-11, 7-8 Big East) beat West Virginia (21-6, 10-5).

NBA

Mavericks 91, Pacers 82: Brendan Haywood tied a career high with 20 rebounds and host Dallas beat Indiana.

Wizards 101, Bulls 95: Andray Blatche scored 25 points and had 11 rebounds to lead host Washington past Chicago.

Bucks 83, Knicks 67: Andrew Bogut had 24 points and 20 rebounds in his third career 20-20 game, and visiting Milwaukee beat New York.

Hawks 105, Jazz 100: At Salt Lake City, Joe Johnson scored 28 points and Atlanta beat Utah for the first time in 17 years.

Clippers 98, Bobcats 94: Baron Davis had 10 points and 10 assists and Los Angeles beat Charlotte.

Baseball

Los Angeles Dodgers star Manny Ramirez says this will be his final season in LA.

Ramirez says he knows he won't be back with the Dodgers next year. But the quirky slugger isn't saying why he's so sure.

Ramirez is with the Dodgers at spring training in Arizona. Los Angeles general manager Ned Colletti said he's not looking into the future with Ramirez.

The Dodgers have reached the playoffs in both seasons Ramirez has been with them. Ramirez is 37 and coming off a year in which he served a 50-game drug suspension.

Football

Experts brought in by prosecutors and the defense have offered conflicting opinions about whether a man charged with fatally shooting an Iowa football coach was sane at the time.

Before resting their case, defense attorneys called on experts in the Allison, Iowa courtroom. Psychiatrist Phillip Resnick testified that 24-year-old Mark Becker is a paranoid schizophrenic who believed coach Ed Thomas was "literally Satan." Resnick said Becker didn't understand the consequences of the shooting last June.
