'Sleeping Beauty' opens Feb. 26

CYT-North Idaho's production of Sleeping Beauty will open Feb. 26. "While many think of the classic story appealing to the female population, the boys and men won't know what they're missing," according to a press release.

CYT-NI productions are acted and sung by kids, backstage crewed by kids, and every now and then, we get an adult that's a kid at heart. Lou Soumas, an Idaho native, graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School and of the University of Idaho, moved his family back to Coeur d'Alene after working in Seattle.

His hobby of building and construction has paid off for the CYT-NI families. Besides helping to create and turn the ship from Treasure Island into a castle or two, Lou's design includes a fire-breathing dragon, pop-up cakes, and magically moving household items.Lou tells us the Kroc's technical advances helps to accommodate quick changes and magical moments on stage.

Sleeping Beauty will be performed at the S.A. Kroc Community Theater, Feb 26 - Mar 7. Tickets may be purchased online at the CYT-North Idaho.Web site: www.cytnorthidaho.com or by calling the Box Office at 277 -5727.
