Mark Eugene Fundin, 49

Mark Eugene Fundin passed away quietly at Kootenai Medical Center, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, after a long illness. Mark was born Feb. 5, 1961, in San Francisco, Calif. He lived his remaining years in North Idaho.

In the early 1980s he joined the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in Camp Lejuene, N.C., and spent some time in Okinawa, Japan. Mark met and married his wife, Mary, in the late 1980s, and they had three children. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Fundin and his mother, Leah Phelps.

Mark is survived at home by his wife, Mary Carpenter Fundin; a daughter, Crystarae Fundin; and a son William Fundin; a son, Timothy Fundin and a fiancée, Brandi Fenenbok, and her daughter Rylie of Coeur d’Alene; a brother Eric Fundin of Arizona; his stepfather and his wife, John and Joan Phelps Sr.; stepbrothers John Phelps Jr. and family, Chuck Phelps and family, David Phelps and family, all from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and a stepsister, Barbara Howard and family of Moses Lake, Wash. He is also survived by several in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and several dear friends all of which loved and will miss him greatly.

A memorial service for Mark will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St. Coeur d’Alene.
