Desmond M. Casey, 76
Desmond M. Casey, 76, of Post Falls, Idaho, died Feb. 14, 2010, at home. He was born April 16, 1933, in Melbourne, Australia, to Michael Thomas and Mavis Mary (McConnell) Casey.
He was raised in Melbourne. He met his wife-to-be Mitzie Rivers on a boat to Canada. On Aug. 13, 1960, he married Mitzie in San Francisco, Calif. He resided in San Carlos, Calif., moving to Post Falls in March 2002.
Desmond worked as a manufacturing engineer in Silicon Valley, Calif. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Post Falls. He was also an auto enthusiast and enjoyed Aussie Rules Football.
He is survived by his wife, Mitzie at home; daughters Maria (Louis) LaVe of Post Falls and Teresa (David) Lloyd of Post Falls; grandchildren Shawn Russell, Denny LaVe, Teresa Ragan, Causja Wohletz, Angela Mayer, Jean-Luc LaVe, Stefan LaVe, Louis-Marcel LaVe, Juliana LaVe, Sebastian LaVe and Seth-Patrick LaVe; great-grandchildren Ryan, Isaac and Liam Russell, James LaVe, Tescelin LaVe, Brendan LaVe, Malachi LaVe, Frances LaVe, Ariana Wohletz, Augustine Wohletz, Silas Ragan, Thaddeus Llyod and Desmond T. Lloyd; and brothers Graeme Casey and Russell Casey.
Desmond was preceded in death by his son, Desmond John Casey on Oct. 25, 1999, and brother Michael Casey.

Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church, 606 E. Fifth Ave., Post Falls. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, also at Immaculate Conception Church, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
