David Henry Stuart, 81

| February 17, 2010 1:50 PM

David Henry Stuart, 81, beloved husband, father, grandpa, uncle, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2010, at home in the presence of his loving family. David was born on Feb. 15, 1928, in Ogden, Utah; son of Gilbert Calvin and Esther Bernice Stuart.

He attended Ogden High School. David enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Feb. 12, 1946, and served aboard the U.S.S. Shangri-la. David married the love of his life, Lila Ann Brewer, on Nov. 5, 1948, in Ogden. While a busy father of five children, David was a home builder for many years and owner of Stuart Roofing Co., which he passed on to his sons.

A Gentle Giant comes to mind, in David we found strength, encouragement and inspiration. His great joy was reading and discussing God’s Word. He found great pleasure in sharing his faith in Jesus Christ with others. David has now crossed the threshold from his earthly home to his heavenly home. He is there with his Lord and Savior, with all of his questions answered. He is in our hearts and minds always. He certainly will be missed.

David leaves behind his children, David Gene and Paula Stuart of Ogden, Michael and Diane Stuart of Athol, Idaho, Roxanne and Dwight Probasco of South Weber, Utah, Forrest and Pam Stuart of Harrisville, Utah, Paul Stuart of Ogden; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. David is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Hyrum (Mary) Dallinga of Denver, Colo., Mrs. David (Leah) Duncan of Ogden and Mrs. Donald (Jessie) Kimball of Milton, Utah.

David is preceded in death by Lila, his loving wife of 58 years; his parents; his granddaughter, Brie Ann Stuart and his sisters, Ruth Stuart and Mrs. James (Esther) Eddy.

Many thanks to Hospice of North Idaho, Arin, April, Peggy and Christy. Special thanks to daughter-in-law Diane for all you have done for dad.

Please join us for a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Athol Baptist Church, 29450 N. Highway 95, Athol, to celebrate David's life.
