Charter wins opener
LEWISTON - Bob Schrack had 14 points and 17 rebounds to help lead the Coeur d'Alene Charter Panthers past the Grangeville Bulldogs 56-46 in the opening round of the 2A District 1-2 tournament at Booth Hall.
"It was a good effort," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Brian Childs said. "Trying to beat someone three times in league is tough. I'm happy to get out of here with a win. Our defensive intensity was pretty good."
The game was the Panthers' first in over a week, which Childs said may have added to the team's start.
"We hadn't played in a week and came out with a few nerves," Childs said. "Hopefully we'll be ready to go on Saturday."
Garrett Hallett added 14 points and 14 rebounds for Coeur d'Alene Charter (13-8), which will face Kamiah on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Lewiston.
