EVERETT, Wash. - Former Coeur d'Alene Laker Tyler Johnson scored a goal and had two assists to lead the Spokane Chiefs past the Everett Silvertips 4-3 in Western Hockey League action in front of 6,031 at Comcast Arena on Friday night.
The win was the first in five tries at Everett this season.
"We had a great work ethic tonight," Chiefs coach Hardy Sauter said. "We were very mature and strong. Our defense did a great job of moving pucks out of our zone - a good road win for us."
Spokane's Mitch Wahl had two assists, giving him a team-leading 73 points on the season.
Spokane (33-20-3-1, 70 points) hosts first-place Tri-City tonight at 7 at the Spokane Arena.
