Post Falls gets six pins, beats Lake City

POST FALLS - The Post Falls Trojans, ranked second in 5A by IdahoWrestlingNews.com, closed out the regular season with a 48-22 win over Lake City at the Arena on Thursday night.

Tyler Mahal (125), James Ost (130), Derrick Booth (135), Cole Jesinouski (152) and Josh Erickson (160) won by pin for Post Falls.

"I thought we wrestled great," Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. "It was a great way to end the regular season and send the seniors out in our last home match. Our guys stepped up and did well."

Marcus Banducci (119), Chris Schenk (215) and Jacob Benson (285) won by pin for Lake City.

"We competed hard for facing the No. 2 team in the state," Lake City coach Corey Owen said. "Our kids wrestled hard the entire match. Those that won got some big wins for us."

Lakeland drops two

against 4A IEL foes

MOSCOW - Lakeland dropped a pair of duals with its 4A Inland Empire League rivals, falling 42-39 to Sandpoint and 51-29 to Moscow at Bear Den.

"I wasn't too happy with the way we wrestled tonight," Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. "Some of our guys wrestled hard, but we had five varsity guys out tonight with weight issues. We had to have some young guys step up."

Jesse Putman (125) won by pin against the Bulldogs. Tyler Morgan (215), Josh Kaplan (285) and Putman won by pin against the Bears.

"We gave up 30 points on forfeits," St. Maries coach Rod Cochrane said. "The matches we did wrestle the kids did well. If you take away the forfeits, it's a six-point match."
