Cal retains lead in Pac-10

Jerome Randle scored 21 of his 33 points in the first half, Jamal Boykin added 20 points and 11 rebounds and first-place California (16-8, 8-4) kept hold of its top spot in the Pac-10 with a commanding 93-81 victory over Washington on Thursday night at Berkeley, Calif.

Isaiah Thomas scored 25 points to lead the Huskies (16-8, 6-6), who fell to 0-7 on the road and greatly hurt their NCAA tournament hopes. They will likely need to win the Pac-10 tournament next month to earn an NCAA berth.

Arizona 70, Oregon 57: At Tucson, Ariz., Derrick Williams scored 11 of his 20 points in the first 3 1/2 minutes of the second half and Arizona (13-11, 7-5) beat Oregon (12-11, 4-7), moving into a tie with Arizona State for second in the scrambled Pac-10, a game behind first-place California.

Arizona State 56, Oregon State 46: At Tempe, Ariz., Derek Glasser scored 16 points and Jerren Shipp had 11 as Arizona State (17-8, 7-5 Pac-10) defeated Oregon State (10-13, 4-7).

No. 18 Butler 68, Youngstown State 57: At Youngstown, Ohio, Gordon Hayward scored 22 points and had 17 rebounds, leading Butler (22-4, 15-0) past Youngstown State (8-16, 2-12) to clinch its fourth straight Horizon League title.

Utah State 72, Boise State 67: At Boise, Jared Quayle scored 14 points and Tai Wesley added 13 to lead Utah State (19-6, 9-2 Western Athletic Conference) past Boise State (11-13, 2-9).

Fresno State 83, New Mexico State 64: At Fresno, Calif., Paul George scored a career-high 30 points, leading the Bulldogs (13-12, 6-5 WAC) past New Mexico State (15-9, 8-3).

San Francisco 77, Pepperdine 47: At San Francisco, Angelo Caloiaro scored a career-high 21 points as San Francisco (10-15, 5-5 West Coast Conference) rolled past the Waves (7-18, 3-6).

Loyola Marymount 73, Santa Clara 67: At Santa Clara, Calif., Drew Viney scored 20 points to lead Loyola Marymount (13-12, 4-5 WCC) past Santa Clara (10-17, 2-8).

Portland 70, San Diego 56: At Portland, Ore., T.J. Campbell scored 18 points, Jared Stohl and Robin Smeulders added 14 apiece and the Pilots (15-8, 6-3 WCC) beat San Diego (9-17, 2-8).
