BOISE (AP) - A man has pleaded guilty to the 2003 stabbing deaths of a Nampa couple in exchange for prosecutors not seeking the death penalty against him.

Pete K. Roberts entered the pleas Friday to two counts of first-degree murder.

Canyon County prosecutors dropped two kidnapping charges and agreed to recommend two life prison sentences.

Roberts' trial had been scheduled for April. His sentencing is set for March 22, at which time a judge can accept or reject the plea deal.
