NSL-leading Wallace trips Mullan

MULLAN - Zack St. Clair scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the North Star League-leading Wallace Miners beat the Mullan Tigers 52-46 on Friday night at the Pavilion.

Trevor Henderson scored 17 points for Mullan (6-9, 2-6 NSL), and Casey McKinnon had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

"We outrebounded them and shot better, but they just made the right baskets at the right times," Mullan coach Mike Smith said.

Dylan Hill added 11 points for Wallace (8-9, 5-0), which plays at Kootenai on Monday.

Mullan plays host to the Lake City freshmen on Monday.

POST FALLS - Colin Burgeson scored 24 points, Jesse Welch added 22 and Christian Center defeated North Idaho Christian in Mountain Christian League play at Post Falls Middle School.

Seth Howard had nine points and 15 assists, Dennis Chekota 16 points and 14 rebounds for Christian Center (14-5, 12-4), which plays in the Mountain Christian League tournament starting Thursday at Spokane.

North Idaho Christian (5-13, 5-8), which plays at The Oaks in Spokane on Monday, was led by John Hardy's 19 points.

MULLAN - Emily Vester scored 10 points, leading Wallace past Mullan in North Star League play.

Wallace (7-13, 4-4) plays at Lakeside on Wednesday for the 1A Division I District 1 title and a berth to a state play-in game.

Freshman Kami McKinnon had eight rebounds and five steals for Mullan (6-12, 2-6), which hosts Kootenai on Wednesday in the first game of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament.

GRANGEVILLE - The host Bulldogs (12-7) advanced to the title game of the 2A District 1-2 tournament.

Kamiah (17-4), ranked third in 2A, will play Coeur d'Alene Charter (10-11) on Monday at 6:30 at Genesee High in a loser-out game. The winner will play Grangeville in the championship game Wednesday.

POST FALLS - Sophomore Amanda Hobson grabbed 15 rebounds to go with seven points and four assists at Post Falls Middle School as the visiting Royals wrapped up their third straight Mountain Christian League title.

Danielle Shanley scored 17 points for North Idaho Christian (18-6, 11-0 MCL), which concludes the regular season Monday at The Oaks in Spokane.

Lindsey Howard scored 10 points for Christian Center (7-8, 5-7), which next plays at the Mountain Christian League tournament beginning Thursday at The Oaks.
