Papa John's may reopen area stores

Papa John's Pizza closed a dozen stores in the Spokane and North Idaho area recently, including the Coeur d'Alene shop on Ironwood Drive and another in Moscow, but does plan to reopen some or all.

A franchise agreement between the Louisville, Ky., company and the group that operated the regional shops was canceled, said Tish Muldoon, spokeswoman for Papa John's.

"It is definitely temporary," she said. "We are in discussions with potential new franchisees. We aim to reopen as quickly as we can."

The expectation is that the shops will reopen in their current locations, and the franchises could go as a package or individually, Muldoon said.

White receives certificate

Nancy White, a Realtor with Windermere Real Estate, completed course work earning her the Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certification by the National Association of Realtors.

The training enables real estate professionals to better serve distressed home owners, and helps to clarify the often complex process of short sales and foreclosed properties in real estate transactions, to benefit both sellers and buyers. White has been a full-time Realtor in Idaho since 2003, is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), and currently serves on the Coeur d'Alene Association of Realtors board of directors.

Marty McDonald has been named the new chief operations officer for HDB Marine, which performs marina design and construction.

"We are pleased to welcome Marty to HDB Marine," said Keith Shannon, president of HDB Marine. "Marty is an industry veteran with 30 years of experience in marina construction."

Most recently, McDonald worked with EMP Industries in the successful launch of the AquaClean Recycling Systems product line. He played a major role with HydroHoist in the development of the HyPower power pedestal division.

"Marty's extensive background and experience in the marina construction industry strengthens our team and is a perfect fit to our commitment to growth and innovation," Shannon said.

McDonald said he's honored to join HDB Marine.

"I believe that HDB is well positioned to assist marinas in today's marketplace," he said.
