Natalie Portman to wed 'Black Swan' choreographer

NEW YORK - Natalie Portman is pregnant with her first child and is engaged to Benjamin Millepied, the choreographer of "Black Swan."

A publicist for Portman confirmed Monday that the couple are engaged and expecting, but declined to give any further details. People magazine first reported the news.

The 29-year-old actress and Millepied, a well-regarded ballet dancer and choreographer, met during the making of "Black Swan," Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller that stars Portman as a ballet dancer. She's been nominated for best actress by the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild.

Millepied played a small on-screen role in the film as a dancer.

Portman also stars in Ivan Reitman's upcoming romantic comedy, "No Strings Attached."

Witherspoon announces plans for 2nd marriage

NEW YORK - Reese Witherspoon is engaged to Hollywood agent Jim Toth.

A representative for the actress confirmed that the couple will wed and says they're "extremely happy." The engagement was first reported by Us Weekly.

The 34-year-old actress was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe. She has two children with him and they divorced in 2008.

Witherspoon won an Oscar for her performance in "Walk the Line." She stars in the recently released comedy "How Do You Know."

Toth is an agent for Creative Artists Agency. Witherspoon is a CAA client but is represented by another agent.

Elton John becomes a dad

LOS ANGELES - Sir Elton John is holding close a new tiny dancer.

The piano man and husband David Furnish have become parents to a 7-pound, 15-ounce baby boy born on Christmas Day. The news was first reported Monday night by USMagazine.com and confirmed to The Associated Press by John's Los Angeles-based publicist.

Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born in California via a surrogate, whose identity is being protected by the new parents.

Zachary is 62-year-old John's first child with the 48-year-old Furnish. The couple married in 2005.

In a joint statement, the new parents told USMagazine.com that "Zachary is healthy and doing well" and they are "overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment."

Teen charged with breaking into Tyler Perry's home

ATLANTA - An 18-year-old woman has been charged with breaking into the Atlanta home of filmmaker Tyler Perry.

Police said Perry's bodyguard caught Chloe Ware early Thursday morning, but two others escaped. A phone listing for Ware could not be found. It was unclear whether she had an attorney.

She was charged with prowling and criminal trespass, then released. Police are still searching for two other suspects.

Perry directed this year's film "For Colored Girls" and co-directed last year's "Precious" with Oprah Winfrey.
