Moose, sheep, goat changes proposed

Idaho Fish and Game proposed changes to moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat rules and seasons for 2011-2012.

The proposed changes will be submitted to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission for consideration and action during the annual meeting Jan. 27.

The proposals are available for review and comment from Fish and Game offices and on the Internet at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/public/. Comments may be entered online, by e-mail to idfginfo@idfg.idaho.gov or by mail to Trophy Species Comments, c/o Idaho Fish and Game, P.O. Box 25, Boise ID 83707.

Public comments are due by the end of the day Jan. 14.

Open house public meetings are planned in regions around the state.

• Panhandle Region:

At 7 p.m. Thursday Jan. 13, at the Fish and Game office, 2885 W. Kathleen Ave., Coeur d'Alene.

• Clearwater Region:

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Fish and Game office, 3316 16th St., Lewiston.

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet Jan. 26, 27 and 28 in Boise.

A public hearing will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Fish and Game headquarters, 600 S. Walnut, Boise.

The commission's agenda items include setting seasons for moose, sheep and goat for 2011 and 2012; a budget preview; and a briefing on big game.
