Kenneth Warren Stoddard, 71

| December 30, 2010 12:32 PM

Kenneth Warren Stoddard, 71, of Post Falls, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 21, 2010. He was surrounded by his family.

Kenneth was born Oct. 4, 1939, in Coeur d'Alene to Raymond and Katherine (Kolbar) Stoddard. He was the youngest of nine children.

In 1964 he married Sandra Jenkins of Seattle. They started raising their family in Coeur d'Alene and then moved to Post Falls in 1972, where they have resided ever since. Ken and Sandy were married for 47 years.

At 18, Ken joined the Army reserves, where he served for eight years. He worked for the State Highway before he went to work for Kiaser Aluminum in 1965. He worked there for 30 years at the Trentwood Plant.

Ken truly missed his calling in life. He should have become a teacher. He was always teaching everyone on a daily basis with his words and actions. He loved people and it showed. He always had a smile on his face and was always waving to friends and strangers alike. He loved fishing, gardening, golfing and was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed playing, coaching, refereeing and watching football, baseball and basketball. He was a hard-working man and dedicated son, husband, father and grandfather.

A most wise, generous and God fearing man, his strength, integrity, courage, compassion and faith were a true testament to his character. He truly made an impact on all the lives he touched.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, sister Colleen and brothers Edward, Raymond, Walter and Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; son Robert Edinger of Post Falls; son Rock Stoddard of Bowie, Texas; daughter Lisa Stoddard Randall of Post Falls; sisters Barbara Rogers and Doris Breeden both of Spokane, Wash.; and brother Robert Stoddard of Hayden.

Ken is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that he cared dearly about, along with several lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Post Falls Baptist Church, N. 1608 Spokane St., Post Falls.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, is in charge of the arrangements. Please sign Kenneth's guest registry and view his online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
