SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Jared Tew put Air Force ahead with a 3-yard touchdown run and the Falcons beat Georgia Tech 14-7 in the Independence Bowl on Monday.

The Falcons (9-4) got two field goals from backup kicker Zack Bell on the first two attempts of his career, then capitalized on a muffed Georgia Tech (6-7) punt return late in third quarter. Tew's score capped the drive after the special teams miscue.

Air Force's Tim Jefferson completed 11 of 23 passes for 117 yards. Bell's field goals came from 41 and 42 yards.

Georgia Tech's sixth consecutive bowl loss finished its first losing season in 14 years.
