Hernandez arrested on money laundering charge
COEUR d'ALENE - A Washington driver was arrested for allegedly laundering $50,000 after Kootenai County deputies pulled the man over for failing to signal on a lane change.
Imiliano G. Hernandez, 34, was taken into custody Wednesday.
The charges were dismissed Thursday, but Hernandez is being held with an immigration hold, without bail, in Kootenai County jail.
Hernandez is from Mexico, jail staff said.
Deputies pulled his tan GMC Yukon truck over around noon on Interstate 90 near Cataldo after Hernandez passed another motorist on the inside lane without signaling or using an arm gesture.
Hernandez received a warning, but consented to a vehicle search, where deputies found a suitcase with $50,000 in cash.
