| December 23, 2010 12:41 PM

William Grant Morical was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada, on Aug. 15, 1921, and died Dec. 22, 2010.

He was adopted by Charlie and Sadie Morical at age three months and lived in Walker, Minn. until he started school. Upon the death of his father, he and his mother and older brother moved to Spirit Lake where he grew up, enjoying the lake and roaming the area with his friends.

Bill was a school teacher by profession, teaching elementary, middle school and high school in Washington and Idaho retiring from Borah Elementary in 1980. Bill had an avid interest in music as an arranger, composer and performer. He played eight instruments, taught and happily shared his expertise until his death. He also was a computer buff, spending many hours learning new programs and ways to apply them to his various interests.

Bill was a faithful supporter of the Church of the Truth, where the lovely hymns he composed were much appreciated. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rev. Mary Jane Morical; two stepsons, Mark Linville (Beth) of Manhattan, Kan., and Milo Linville (Denine) of Damascus, Ore. He was "Grandpa Bill" to Milo L.B. Linville (Becky), also of Damascus, and Micah, Caleb and Lily Linville, all of Manhattan. Bill also is survived by one nephew, Gary Morical (Linda) of Richmond, British Columbia, and special sisters-in-law, Sarah Hietala and Jo Higbee, of Coeur d'Alene. Preceding him death were Charlie Morical, Sadie and Paul Ring; brother and sister-in-law, Garald and Yvonne Morical; and beloved nephew, Ed Morical.

A remembrance service will be held at a later date. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Bill's online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com
