Mead drops Coeur d'Alene girls in OT

GIRLS BASKETBALL

SPOKANE - Kalee Junkermier scored 11 points as the Mead Panthers edged the visiting Coeur d'Alene Vikings 52-51 in overtime on Wednesday night.

"They shot 17 of 21 at the foul line tonight and we went 6 of 11," Coeur d'Alene coach Dale Poffenroth said. "That was the difference tonight. We had some shots to win, but they just didn't fall tonight. They were good looks, but just didn't drop."

Carli Rosenthal scored 22 points for Coeur d'Alene (6-3), which faces Lowry High of Winnemucca (Nev.) on Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational on Tuesday at North Idaho College.
