Jimmie Goodwin, 69

James "Jimmie" Duane Goodwin died Dec. 9, 2010, in Phoenix, Ariz., following an extensive illness. He was born April 19, 1941, in St. Maries to Helen Delaney Goodwin and Sylvester "Sy" William Goodwin.

The family relocated to Coeur d'Alene in 1947. Jim attended local schools and while growing up worked for his Dad's delivery service, Lake City Delivery "Grocery and Ice." He graduated from high school in 1959 and married Delana Babb in 1960. In 1969 he married Kaye Jares and in 1979 he married Carol Duport. These marriages ended in divorce. Jimmie went to work in a local parts and hardware store after graduating from high school. He next became purchasing agent for Diamond International. After that, he opened his own company, "Jim D. Goodwin & Co." in which he bought and sold logging and construction equipment. In 1982 he met the love of his life and true soul mate, Wanda Litalien, who he spent 27 wonderful years with.

He was an active member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Past Worshipful Master of Kootenai 24 A.F. & A.M., life member of Rathdrum Lodge 41 A.F. & A.M., life member of Deer Park Lodge 134 F. & A.M., life member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Valley of Coeur d'Alene, life member of Queen Esther Chapter OES 12, member of the Order of Quetzalcoatl and would have been president next year, member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court 62 Lewiston, life member of Calam Temple A.A. N.O.M.S. (Shrine) and life member of El Katif Temple A.A.N.O.M.S. (Shrine) Spokane, Wash.

He was elected president of the Coeur d'Alene Shrine Club and he was installed as president of the South Spokane Shrine Club. He belonged to the Camel Herders and the Octocycler Unit (8 man bike). He was a life member of Grotto, a member of the Hayden Lake Eagles and the Kellogg Elks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Judy and two older brothers at birth.

He is survived by his children, Kevin Goodwin, Debra Nuygun, Janine Eakin, Chad Goodwin (Tammy), Teresa Mather (Robert), Rene Amoroso (John), Mark Goodwin (Lisa) and Laura Beckman (Jim); five stepchildren, Thomas Litalien (Linda), Anthony Litalien (Mary Anne), Kim Stout, Jeanine Dube (Ken) Denise Brown (Dan); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with special friends, Wayne and Rosie Sharp and Jim Parmentier.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with private burial at a later date. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, is in care of the arrangements.
