Wilmeth (Billie) Viola Collins, 92

Wilmeth (Billie) Viola Collins, 92, passed away Dec. 17, 2010, in the loving care of Coeur d'Alene Homes. Born Aug. 7, 1918, in Philipsburg, Mont., to Ray and Annie Engle, she was the third of four girls.

Billie grew up in Rollins, Mont., on Flathead Lake, and graduated from Polson High School in 1937. She married Vern Collins on July 3, 1939, and moved to Wallace shortly after. They moved to St. Maries in 1960 and to Coeur d'Alene in 1963.

She worked for the U.S. Forest Service at Magee Ranger Station and Fernan Ranger District until retiring in 1985. Billie and Vern enjoyed wintering in Yuma, Ariz., for many years, until his passing in January 1991. She moved to Florence, Ore., in 2001 and back to Coeur d'Alene in 2005.

Billie is survived by her daughter, Verna and husband John Arnold and grandchildren Derek Pavone and Tom Arnold, and son Tracy and wife Colleen Collins and grandsons Kyle Collins and Kristopher King; and great-grandchildren Jordyn Maxwell and Taylor Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and granddaughter Denise Clark (Verna and John Arnold).

No service will be held per her request. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held later.

In lieu of cards and flowers a contribution to Coeur d'Alene Homes, 624 W. Harrison, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814 and/or Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835 may be made.

English Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Coeur d'Alene has been entrusted with her final care. The family wishes to convey their utmost gratitude for the care from all of the staff at Coeur d'Alene Homes and Hospice of North Idaho.
